Olin is a wellness and lifestyle product. It is not a medical device. This page explains what that means for how you should read this website and use the product.
Not a medical device, not medical advice
Olin — the diffuser, its circadian light, and the essential-oil blends — is designed to support comfortable evening and morning routines. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition, including insomnia or other sleep disorders, anxiety, depression, or seasonal affective disorder.
Nothing on this website is medical advice. The content is provided for general information only and is not a substitute for the advice of a physician or other qualified health provider. If you have — or suspect you have — a sleep disorder or any other medical condition, talk to your doctor. Never disregard professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read here.
About the research we cite
Where this site references published studies on essential oils, aromatherapy, or light and circadian rhythms, those references are provided for information. They describe research on ingredients or general mechanisms — not clinical trials of Olin itself. Individual responses to scent and light vary; we make no promise of any specific outcome, including falling asleep faster, sleeping deeper, or waking easier.
About the circadian light
The sunrise-sunset light simulation is a comfort feature. It is not a certified light-therapy lamp and should not be used as one. If you are considering light therapy for a health condition, please consult a professional.
Using essential oils safely
Essential oils are concentrated botanical extracts. As with any essential-oil product, please take a few precautions:
- Ask your doctor before using essential oils if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have asthma or another respiratory condition, epilepsy, allergies, or another chronic condition — or before diffusing around infants and young children.
- Keep essential-oil bottles out of the reach of children. The oils are for diffusion only — do not ingest them or apply them to skin.
- Some animals, especially cats and birds, are sensitive to diffused essential oils. Diffuse in ventilated spaces and ask your veterinarian what is safe around your pets.
- If you experience irritation, headache, or difficulty breathing while diffusing, stop and ventilate the room.
A product in development
Olin is currently in development ahead of a crowdfunding launch. Images and renders on this site show the current design intent; specifications, materials, and features may evolve before delivery.
